Released on May 20, 2003, GoboLinux is a Linux distribution, that features a traditional Linux file where each program in the operating system has its own subdirectory tree, rather than following the Filesystem Hierarchy Standard that most Unix-like operating systems follow.
This same structure is used in operating systems such as AtheOS, BeOS, and NeXTSTEP. This structure also allows for a level of compatibility with other Unix systems.
The GoboLinux project has since gone dorment near the end of May of 2020, but the ISO files to install the operating system are still available on GoboLinux's official website.
