Acute pancreatitis is a common type of pancreatitis that uncommonly comes to pathology.

- Rarely comes to pathology.
- Usually diagnosed by abdominal CT, blood work (amylase, lipase).
Microscopic

- Loss of acini.
- Neutrophils.
- Hemorrhage.
- +/-Loss of pancreatic islets.
