Alice Duport-Percier is a French soprano and composer specializing in early music and baroque music. While she established her career in classical opera and chamber music ensembles such as Les Kapsber’girls, she achieved wider international recognition in 2025 as the lead vocalist and co-composer for the soundtrack of the video game Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

Early life and education

Duport-Percier was born in Lyon, France. She began her musical training in choral singing at the Conservatoire de Saint-Priest before joining the Maîtrise de l'Opéra de Lyon (the children's choir of the Opéra National de Lyon). She pursued advanced vocal studies at the Conservatoire de Lyon (CNSMDL), where she specialized in early music repertoires under the tutelage of teachers such as Claire Marbot, Bruno Boterf, and Monique Zanetti.[1]

Career

Classical and early music

Duport-Percier is a founding member of the early music ensemble Les Kapsber’girls, a quartet dedicated to 17th-century vocal and instrumental music. With the ensemble, she recorded the album Che fai tù?, which was awarded the Diapason d'Or in March 2020 and received the top rating of "ffff" from Télérama.[2] She also performs with the ensembles Libera Me and Tenta la Fuga.

In February 2019, she made her operatic debut at the Karlsruhe Handel Festival (Händel-Festspiele Karlsruhe), performing the role of Oberto in Handel's Alcina. Critics praised her performance for her "crystalline voice" and "androgynous tone" suitable for the trouser role.[3] In May 2023, she appeared as Amour in Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice at the Zürich Opera House, conducted by Stefano Montanari.

Soundtrack work

Duport-Percier gained significant popularity outside the classical sphere through her collaboration with composer Lorien Testard on the soundtrack for the role-playing game Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, developed by Sandfall Interactive and released in 2025. She served as the primary vocalist and co-composed several tracks, including the main theme "Alicia" and "Lumière".[4]

Her performance on the soundtrack was widely acclaimed, contributing to the album's success on the Billboard Classical Charts. In August 2025, she performed "Alicia" live with Testard at Gamescom's Opening Night Live, marking a major crossover performance for a classical soprano in the gaming industry.

She was previously a member of The Grissini Project, a musical group known for arranging video game and film scores for classical instruments, performing with them until 2021.
