Angine de Poitrine
Angine de Poitrine is a Canadian experimental rock duo from the Saguenay region of Quebec.[1] Formed in the early 2020s, the group consists of two members performing under the pseudonyms Khn de Poitrine (guitar, bass, and microtonal instruments) and Klek de Poitrine (drums).[2]
The band combines experimental rock with microtonal music and performance art, using nonstandard tuning systems, complex rhythms, and largely instrumental compositions. Their live performances are known for oversized papier-mâché masks and theatrical staging.
Angine de Poitrine gained early attention through independent online releases and festival appearances in Canada. Their debut album, Vol. 1,[3] was released in 2024. In February 2026, the band's recorded live session for radio station KEXP circulated widely online, bringing the duo increased international recognition.[4][5][6][7][8]
Critical reception has emphasized their originality, technical intensity, and distinctive visual identity. Their discography includes Vol. 1 (2024) and the single “Fabienk” (2026).[9]
