Aritzo (Sardinian: Arìtzo) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Nuoro in the region of Sardinia in Italy, located about 80 kilometres (50 mi) north of Cagliari and about 40 kilometres (25 mi) southwest of Nuoro. It has a population of 1,211.[2]

Aritzo borders the following municipalities: Arzana, Belvì, Desulo, Gadoni, Laconi, Meana Sardo, and Seulo.

Demographics

As of 2025, Aritzo has a population of 1,211, of which 56.2% are male and 43.8% are female, compared to the national average of 49.0% and 51.0% respectively. Minors make up 9.8% of the population, and seniors make up 28.5%, compared to the national average of 14.9% and 24.7% respectively.[2]

Immigration

As of 2025, the foreign-born population is 149, making up 12.3% of the total population. The 5 largest foreign nationalities are Pakistanis (60), Bangladeshis (20), Afghans (10), Nigerians (7) and Burkinabé (6).[5]
