Notable people
- Ferdinand Raimund, bought a villa in Gutenstein in 1834 and is buried at the Bergfriedhof.[3]
- Hedy Kempny, Austrian writer, friend of Arthur Schnitzler,[4][5] was born in Gutenstein.
- Peter Kempny, physician, entomologist[6] and musician,[7] practiced medicine in Gutenstein and had public baths[8] erected there in 1889.
