Jared Allen McGee is an American former college football safety for the Northwestern Wildcats.

Early life

McGee grew up in Arlington, Texas,[1] and attended Mansfield Legacy High School. He played safety and quarterback at Mansfield.[2]

College career

McGee flipped his commitment to Northwestern on national signing day in 2014.[3] McGee played for Northwestern from 2015 to 2018. He missed eight games in 2015 due to a hamstring injury, but appeared in 13 games in 2016 and 12 games each in 2017.[2][4] He underwent hip surgery in January 2018.[1] After recuperating from the surgery, McGee had his best season in 2018, tallying 51 tackles.[1] He helped lead the 2018 Northwestern Wildcats football team to the Big Ten West Division championship. In his last collegiate game, he helped lead the team to a victory over No. 20 Utah in the 2018 Holiday Bowl, as he returned a fumble 82 yards for a touchdown.[5]

In four years at Northwestern, he tallied 120 career tackles and four interceptions.[4]
