John Donald Lamontagne[1] (born c. 1970) is a United States Air Force general who has served as the commander of Air Mobility Command since September 9, 2024.[2] He most recently served as the deputy commander of the United States Air Forces in Europe – Air Forces Africa. He previously served as the chief of staff of the United States European Command.[3][4][5][6][7]
In July 2024, Lamontagne was nominated for promotion to general and assignment as the commander of Air Mobility Command.[8][9] Following his confirmation, he took over command from Mike Minihan on 9 September 2024.[10]
Lamontagne joined the Air Force in 1992 and has over 4,000 hours of flight in C-12, KC-135R and C-17 aircraft.[4]
