Konoka Matsuda (Japanese: 松田 好花, Hepburn: Konoka Matsuda; born April 27, 1999)[1] is a Japanese singer, radio personality, television presenter, and actress. She is a member of the girl group Hinatazaka46 (formerly Hiragana Keyakizaka46).
Aside from music, Matsuda has hosted several programs within the All Night Nippon radio franchise, as well as various educational, variety, and morning television shows. In 2026, she became the first member in the Sakamichi Series to be credited as lyricist for a song performed by an entire group. She would leave Hinatazaka46 in the end of February 2026 to pursue other ventures.
Career
On August 13, 2017, Matsuda joined the girl group Hiragana Keyakizaka46, now Hinatazaka46, as a second generation member.[2] She was one half of the guitar duo subgroup Hana-chans with fellow member Suzuka Tomita; the duo released their first song as part of Hinatazaka46's third single[3] and performed an independent live show on MTV Japan, titled MTV Acoustic Flowers: Until Full Bloom "Bell & Like", on June 27, 2021.[4] On September 2020, she went on hiatus due to an ophthalmic disease and made her comeback at the live streamed Hinakuri 2020 concert on December 24.[5]
From 2019 to 2020, Matsuda served as co-host for several subjects on NHK Educational TV's High School Course program.[6][7][8] She went on to co-host for TBS Television's morning show Love It! from August to September 2021,[9][10] and was the Tuesday co-host for The Time on the same station from October 2022 to March 2025.[11][12] Since 2023, she has been a co-host for the travel variety show Kasuga Location on Nippon TV, produced and co-hosted by regular Hinatazaka46 collaborator Toshiaki Kasuga.[13] On August 10, her first self-titled television show, Hōsōsakka Matsuda Konoka (放送作家松田好花; lit. 'Broadcast Writer, Konoka Matsuda'), about her efforts to create an original television program, was aired on TV Tokyo,[14] with a second installment aired in August 2025.[15]
Matsuda's first solo radio program was the self-titled Konoka Matsuda's Hinatazaka High School Broadcast Club on Nippon Broadcasting System,[16] which ran from 2021 to 2023.[17] In October 2023, she joined the long-running All Night Nippon radio franchise as a host for All Night Nippon 0 on the same station, and transitioned shortly after to All Night Nippon X, which aimed to synergize radio with new media technologies,[18] in April 2024.[19] In August 2025, Oricon announced that Matsuda placed eighth on its 2025 Favorite Radio Personality Ranking (Actors/Artists).[20] She held her first offline radio event at the Pacifico Yokohama on December 8, 2025.[21][22]
Matsuda's first photobook, titled Furimuite (振り向いて; lit. 'Looking Back') and photographed mainly in Vancouver, was released by Kodansha on May 28, 2024. It sold 51 thousand copies in its first week and placed first on the Oricon Weekly Book Ranking that week;[23] at the end of the year, it placed seventh and second on the annual photobook and annual solo female photobook rankings, respectively.[24][25]
On December 1, Matsuda announced on her official blog that she would leave Hinatazaka46 in February 2026.[26] On January 16, 2026, she announced on All Night Nippon X that the group's upcoming 16th single, "Cliffhanger", would include a song written by her, titled "Namidame no Taiyō" (涙目の太陽) and performed by all members; Japanese media noted that she was the first Sakamichi Series member to write the lyrics for a group (i.e., non-solo) song, as producer Yasushi Akimoto had been credited as sole lyricist for all such songs, excluding bonus content.[27][28] Her graduation ceremony took place on January 29, 2026, at the Toyota Arena Tokyo.[29][30]
Personal life
Matsuda's older sister, Arisa Matsuda, held the title of Miss Ritsumeikan 2016 and won the grand prize in the Miss of Miss Campus Queen Contest 2017.[31][32][33]
Matsuda trained in classical ballet from the age of three until she joined Hiragana Keyakizaka46, and was a member of the taiko club.[31] She holds a Kanji Kentei level 2 certification.[34]
Discography
Matsuda has been in the lineup of all Hinatazaka46 title songs.[35] Other prominent appearances include:
- "Masaka Gūzen..." (まさか 偶然...) (2019, "Konna ni Suki ni Natchatte Ii no?" B-side), as Hana-chans[3]
- "Naze-" (ナゼー) (2020, "Sonna Koto Nai yo" B-side), Dasada television series original song, performed with Mei Higashimura and Hina Kawata as the in-universe group Factory[36][37]
