Orchid Conservation Alliance
The Orchid Conservation Alliance (OCA), founded in 2005 in California, is a volunteer-run nonprofit that protects tropical orchid habitats by funding land purchases and conservation projects in Latin America. Working with local NGOs, it has helped preserve 5,300 acres of orchid-rich forest, directing over 90% of its income to conservation. OCA also raises awareness through global eco-tours, educational outreach, and partnerships with groups like Rainforest Trust and Fundación EcoMinga.[1] [2]
