Shania Soeganda (born on June 21, 2001) is an Indonesian singer, songwriter and song cover. She starts her musical career by upload her first song-cover video of 有点甜 (A Bit Sweet) by Silence Wang. Shania has become widely known online thanks to her TikTok cover videos of several popular songs since 2020. She has a distinctive, soft voice and draws inspiration from anime, games, and J-pop.[1] Shania has been covered songs of popular artist such Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, etc. She also has been released 17 EPs and 2 albums of her covers, 7 original singles, and 2 singles of collaboration song.

Life and career

2001–2013: Early life

Shania was born on June 21, 2001 in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. She is a Chinese-blood Indonesian.

2013–2019: High school and education

Shania was a middle highscool student in 2013–2016. Then, she became a highschool student in 2016. Shania was part of Santo Augustinus Catholic Highschool (SMA Katolik Santo Augustinus) in Kediri. Shania had loved music since she was in middle high school. She made the short potrait-formatted lipsync videos on TikTok in 2016–2017 (formerly Musical.ly)

Shania in School Contest XI

In 2018, Shania joined the competition of School Contest XI of Radar Kediri in Kediri[2]. The competition is run by asking participants to showcase their talents on stage. They then showcase their talents in front of the audience.She follow the English Star competition. Shania won the competition and became 1st place [3]. Shania show her talent in from of the judge, audience and her parents. The audiences clapped and cheered for praise her talent [2].

Shania graduated from highschool in 2019. When she follow the National Exam, she got the 4th place of the science class of private schools throughout Kediri[4]

Shania played keyboard

Shania begun her career in music by joining GMS Church in 2019 as a keyboardist[5]. And she begun her journey in music publically by uploading her first songcover video on YouTube. She sung "有点甜" (A Bit Sweet) by Silence Wang[6] for her first song to be covered in YouTube. After that, she started to focus on covering songs. In her first video, she used the earphone microphone for sound recording. Shania switched to a condenser microphone started from her second video. In December 2020, Shania signed by Ostereo[5] and debuted by release the first EP titled EP1 in 2021[7]. Her EP was booming then she continued to release her next EP, EP2. Around 2022-2023, she moved to U.S to continue her academic learning in Drexel University's Westphal College of Media & Arts.

In 2025, her name became popular since she officially became an OST singer of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX anime series, "Far Beyond The Star", in collaboration with Yoshimasa Terui as a composer of the song[1]. Beside that, Shania also became popular because of her calmly voice from her cover songs.
