The Small Servant is a 1955 American television play with Laurence Harvey and Diane Cilento both making their American television debuts.[1][2]

The same story was filmed for British television in 1960.[3]

Premise

A young girl becomes the servant of the proprietor of an old curiosity shop and falls in love with the man who lives above the shop.

Reception

The Washington Daily News said the play was "so good it... deserves repeating at least once a year."[4] The Evening Star called it "perfectly beguiling."[5]
