Name

Type locality: Ecuador, Topo.
Type material: BMNH. Holotype male.
Synonyms
- Ephialtias superbior Strand, 1912: 147; = Prout, 1920: 509.
- Brachyglene superbior; Bryk, 1930.
- Note: Ephialtias is a genus in Dioptinae.
Prout (1918) classified the species superbior as incertae sedis, then in 1920 reclassified it in Arctiidae, precisely synonym of Ctenucha cyaniris. Reported by J. Miller in his Dioptinae revision. This species is part of Arctiinae, but probably belongs to a different genus than Ctenucha.
