Etymology
- The genus name Idemlinea is derived from the Latin idem, meaning "the same," and linea, "line", referring to the major veins of the base of the hind wing (especially MP and CuA) being roughly parallel to the hind margin of the wing rather than curving posteriorly as they do in related genera. Gender, feminine.
