Taxonavigation
| Taxonavigation: Coscinodiscales |
|---|
|
Superregnum: Eukaryota |
Familia: Heliopeltaceae
Genus: Polymyxus
Species: P. coronalis
Name
Polymyxus J.W.Bailey ex L.W.Bailey, 1861
Type species: Polymyxus coronalis L.W.Bailey, 1861
Note: Loring Bailey used his father's notes to describe the new species in duplicate; with descriptions and illustrations in the Boston Journal of Natural History (Bailey, 1861), and shorter descriptions presented in the Proceedings of the Boston Society of Natural History (Bailey, 1861b). One would assume that the illustrated paper with the more detailed descriptions was the one intended to report the new taxa.
