Šemetkovce (Hungarian: Szemes, until 1899: Semetkócz) is a village and municipality in Svidník District in the Prešov Region of north-eastern Slovakia. One of its churches, Church of Michael the Archangel, is one of the country's wooden treasures.[4]
History
In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1572.
Geography
The municipality lies at an altitude of 356 metres (1,168 ft)[3] and covers an area of 7.07 km2 (2.73 sq mi) (2024).[5]
