Several other candidate species of Dinothrombium from early descriptions of "Trombidium" spp., such as magnificum Le Conte, 1852 or mexicanum Stoll, 1886 are treated as Incertae sedis after Mąkol, 2000, e.g. in many online sources Hallan, from pre 2008
