How to Identify
A shrub or tree. It grows up to 8 m high. The leaves have an odd number of leaflets. The leaves are 35-48 cm long. The flowers are in panicles in the axils of leaves. Flowers are yellow. The fruit are oblong and 3-4 cm long by 2-3 cm wide.

Source ↗Protium pittieri (Spanish: alcanfor) is a species of plant in the Burseraceae family. It is native to Guerrero state in southwestern Mexico, to Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama in Central America, and to Ecuador in South America. It is threatened by habitat loss.
