The fruit is edible.
How to Identify
A bushy shrub or small tree. The leaves are simple and alternate. They are 3-12 cm long by 1-4 cm wide. The edges are wavy and can have coarse teeth when young. The flowers are white, cream and green. They are small and bell shaped and clustered along the branches. The fruit are fleshy and purple. They are 4-5 mm across and have one rounded seed.
Notes
Also put in the family Myrsinaeae.
