Source ↗Lactarius acris is a member of the large milk-cap genus Lactarius in the order Russulales. Found in Europe, the species was described in 1821 by British botanist Samuel Frederick Gray. It is considered unpalatable due to its strong flavour, but the bitterness can be removed by repeated washing and salting.
