How to Identify
A shrub or small tree. The leaves are simple and alternate. On the small branches they are often clustered. The leaves vary in shape. They are 2-6 cm long by about 1 cm wide. Young leaves have spiny teeth. The flowers can occur singly or in small clusters. The fruit is a capsule with 2 lobes. The seeds are black. They have a red aril or fleshy layer aorund them.

Plants can be grown from seeds or cuttings.
