How to Identify
A tree in the Combretaceae family native to tropical regions. It produces edible fruit.
Other Uses
The wood is said to be similar to that of Terminalia catappa. The description of that wood is as follows:- The heartwood is brown to reddish, with a lighter coloured sapwood. The wood is fine textured, cross-grained, hard, rather heavy, strong and pliable. It seasons well and works easily. A good quality timber, it is used for the construction of buildings, boats, bridges, floors, boxes, crates, planks, carts, wheelbarrows, barrels and water troughs. The wood is very susceptible to termite damage.
