Cytisus decumbens is an evergreen sprawling shrub reaching 0.2 m tall and spreading to 1 m wide at a medium growth rate. Hardy to UK zone 6, it fixes atmospheric nitrogen. The plant thrives in light sandy or medium loamy well-drained soils and tolerates poor soil fertility. It grows across mildly acidic to very alkaline pH ranges. It requires full sun and tolerates both dry and moist soil conditions, including drought.
