It is a tropical plant. In Ecuador it grows between 2,000-4,000 m above sea level.

How to Identify
A spiny shrub. The leaves are opposite and entire. The flowers are pink and arranged in groups at the top of the plant. The fruit is yellow and fleshy with a stone inside.
