The fruit are eaten raw.

It is a temperate plant.

Chile, South America,

Countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Paraguay, Suriname, Uruguay, Venezuela

A shrub or small tree. It can be 5 m tall. The leaves are alternate and 7 cm long b 3-4 cm wide. The fruit is fleshy and white.

Plants can be grown from seed. They are best with cold treatment.
