How to Identify
Linum humile is a ANNUAL growing to 0.6 m (2ft). The species is hermaphrodite (has both male and female organs) and is pollinated by Insects. Suitable for: light (sandy) and medium (loamy) soils and prefers well-drained soil. Suitable pH: mildly acid, neutral and basic (mildly alkaline) soils. It cannot grow in the shade. It prefers moist soil.
How to Grow
Prefers a light well-drained moderately fertile humus-rich soil in a sunny sheltered position. Considered by most botanists to be no more than a cultivar of L. usitatissimum, it is cultivated for its fibre and seed.
Propagation: Seed - sow early spring in situ.
