How to Identify

A fig. It is a small tree. It grows 5-15 m tall. The twigs are rough and hairy. The leaves are narrowly oval and taper to a short tip. There can be fine teeth along the edge. The leaves are 14-30 cm long by 9-19 cm wide. The leaf stalks are 1-7 cm long. The figs are a flattened round shape. They can occur singly on the tips or in clusters on old wood.

Notes

There are about 800-1000 Ficus species. They are mostly in the tropics. There are 120 Ficus species in tropical America. Not in The Plant List.
