How to Identify

A tree. It grows 15 m tall. The leaf stalk is 10-30 cm long. There ate 6-9 leaflets. There are narrowly oval and 7-18 cm long by 3-5 cm wide.

How to Grow

A plant of the tropics and subtropics, it is found at elevations below 600 metres in the subtropics, but can occur as high as 1,400 metres in the tropics.

Medicinal Uses

Used medicinally.

Other Uses

The wood is soft, light and easy to work. It can be used for making musical instruments and matchboxes, and is also a source of pulp for making paper. The leaves and young branches are used as green manure.
