Jockey

A jockey refers to a naturally-spawned mob riding another mob. The mob on the top often controls the mob on the bottom in Java Edition, but sometimes does not control it in Bedrock Edition.
Most jockeys are named based on the mob being ridden. The exceptions to the "jockey" naming scheme are the skeleton horseman and zombie horseman.
List of jockeys
Camel Husk Jockey; a camel husk ridden by a parched and a husk wielding a spear.
Chicken Jockey; a baby zombie, zombie villager, drowned, husk, or zombified piglin riding a chicken or most adult mobs[BE only]
Hoglin Jockey; a baby hoglin ridden by one to three baby piglins.
Ravager Jockey; a ravager ridden by an illager, most commonly being a pillager.
Skeleton Horseman; a skeleton horse ridden by a skeleton with an enchanted iron helmet.
Spider Jockey; a spider ridden by a skeleton, stray, bogged, parched, or wither skeleton.[BE only]
Cave Spider Jockey; a cave spider ridden by said skeletons.[BE only]
Strider Jockey; a strider ridden by a zombified piglin or baby strider.
Zombie Horseman; a zombie horse ridden by a zombie wielding a spear.
Zombie Nautilus Jockey; a zombie nautilus ridden by a drowned wielding a trident.
Removed
Giant jockey; a chicken ridden by a giant.[JE only]
Most jockeys spawn in similar conditions to their respective mobs, except for baby zombie (variant) riders in Bedrock Edition, which can mount any mob.
Mounting
15% of naturally spawned baby zombies, baby husks, baby zombie villagers,[upcoming BE 26.0] baby drowned,[upcoming BE 26.0] and baby zombified piglins[upcoming BE 26.0] search for a mount after spawning. Such a mob can be summoned with the minecraft:as_baby_jockey spawn event.
The following mobs can be mounted:
Adult chickens
Cows
Adult unsaddled pigs
Sheep
Mooshrooms
Wild ocelots
Stray cats
Wild wolves
Wild adult horses

| 1.2 | As with spiders, spider jockeys can now climb vertically up walls. | ||||||
| 1.5 | Spider jockeys can now be "neutral-hostile" with the addition of rain. The light level is low enough in a rainstorm for the skeleton to not combust, but high enough for the spider to not be actively hunting. In this state, the skeleton shoots the player with arrows, but the spider does not give chase (unless the spider jockey wanders into a shady area) because movement is controlled by the spider. The player can safely observe this kind of spider jockey from a distance of 16 or more blocks away. | ||||||
| 1.8 | |||||||
| Skeleton riders now fire arrows slightly slower. Their arrows, however, are shot with more force. | |||||||
