The amulet is both a symbol and a valuable navigational device used to locate and represent the current members of the Order of the Stone.
History
Season One
At the beginning of The Order of the Stone, Soren can be seen holding the amulet in front of a crafting table, presumably having created it.
Later, as Jesse's Gang leaves the treehouse, images of the amulet on banners are shown repeatedly during EnderCon, announcing the arrival of Gabriel.
After entering Gabriel's fortress and being chased by the wither storm, Gabriel reveals the amulet and urges Jesse to take it for its useful functionality in finding the Order of the Stone members.
Climbing up the stairs of the Temple of the Order of the Stone, which leads to the top floor, reveals a 6×5 map and a pedestal with an image of the amulet on a banner. Jesse recalls the story of Gabriel that by finding the temple will reveal the location of the members through the amulet. In turn, Axel asks Jesse to show it in which he raises it above his head. To everyone's disappointment, nothing happens. Jesse declared that they must be "something we're missing" and to "[l]ook around and see if you can find anything." The game progresses by giving the player autonomy of Jesse to walk towards the pedestal and place the amulet. By walking further down towards the switch, a contraption made using of five levers, shows a puzzle for the player to solve when interacted with. By completing it, turns the redstone lamp on, shooting a beam of white light towards the amulet's blue center which consequently shoot out red and green beams from the gems of the same colour onto the map. Jesse deducts that these beams must represent the members, with Soren missing, concluding that green is Magnus and red is Ellegaard.
If the player chose to visit Redstonia with Olivia for the next episode, Assembly Required, Jesse would reveal the amulet to Calvin in a desperate attempt to convince him to organise a meeting with Ellegaard. Instead, this convinces Calvin to send the amulet directly to Ellegaard's private office via an item transportation system with Olivia reassuring Jesse that it "might not be a bad idea."
After breaking into the Dome of Concentration, Jesse and Olivia find Ellegaard and alert her of a world-threatening wither storm which she immediately disregards their message. Jesse references the command block and the Order of the Stone which gave Ellegaard a realisation that it was those two who brought the amulet to her – where the red gem glowed vibrantly with an oscillating sound as she revealed it. Ellegaard recollected – when she received the amulet – that she was "terribly confused about where it had came from...", mentioning no note came attached to it with additional talk of not seeing "one of these in a long time." Finally, this convinces Ellegaard to believe in Jesse and Olivia's story, with Olivia asking if she can return the amulet (which Ellegard was unfazed about).
During the attempt to unconventionally craft a command block, it was disrupted by the wither storm (an event caused by the amulet's location tracking unbeknownst to the characters).
Season Two
In Below the Bedrock, the amulet was used in Xara's portal to transport Jesse and the others to the surface. They were transported in the ruined temple of the old Order of the Stone as the amulet has deep ties to that structure and its members.
Properties
Each color is represented by a different member with a visible glow increasing with intensity as a member is nearer to it.
| Color | Old Order of the Stone | New Order of the Stone |
|---|---|---|
| Blue | ||
| Green | ||
| Cyan | ||
| Red | ||
| White |
Inside the Order's Temple, the amulet can be placed inside a machine and when shone light through the center, colored beams come out onto a map representing the exact locations of the order members in the Overworld. It will not create beam for a member that is currently in other dimensions such as the Nether or the End.

Trivia
- Ellegaard's and Magnus's colors (red and green, respectively) are on opposite sides of each other. Coincidentally, red and green are on the opposite sides of each other on the RYB color wheel. This could be a reference to their conflicting personalities.
- In the game files, the amulet is referred to as a medallion.
- It was confirmed by Eric Stirpe that the amulet was reprogrammed and would then track down The New Order of the Stone.[1]
- However, the blue light of the amulet glowed when Ivor revealed himself in Below the Bedrock, but it did not seem to glow when he was gone, even though Jesse was nearby.
