The first drop of 2026, also known as Drop 1 of 2026,^[1] is an upcoming game drop that will release as Java Edition 26.1 and Bedrock Edition 26.10 at an unconfirmed date. Its theme is "cuteness" and "emotional attachment to mobs".^[2] It gives unique designs to various baby animals, redesigns rabbits, and makes name tags craftable. It also adds the golden dandelion which prevents baby animals from aging.

Experimental features for the update will be released prior to the finalized release as part of Bedrock Edition 26.0.

Additions

Golden dandelion

• A new golden variant of the regular dandelion.
• Can be crafted using a single dandelion surrounded with eight gold nuggets.
• Prevents baby mobs from aging when used.
  • When used again, it will continue to age again.
  • Cannot be used on baby monsters and baby villagers.
• Can be used to make suspicious stew of the saturation effect.
• Cannot be composted or attract bees.
• Attract piglins.

Spawn egg

• Now always spawns baby mobs when used on the same mob in Bedrock Edition, to match Java Edition. This does not require the Drop 1 of 2026 experiment in Bedrock Edition 26.0.

Mobs

Updated the models and textures of the following baby mobs:

• Armor, carpets, chests, and saddles no longer render on baby variants of the mobs stated above, when applicable.
• Added new sounds for baby variants of cats, chickens, horses, pigs, and wolves.
  • Baby cats are now known as kittens, baby chickens are now known as chicks, baby horses are now known as foals, and baby wolves are now known as puppies.
    • This shows up in the closed captions.

• The models, animations, and textures have been updated.
• Now has an idle animation.
